Gear VR Framework (GVRf) is an open source VR rendering library sponsored by many world companies, including Samsung. In order to demonstrate how versatile GVRf could be, Samsung Research America (SRA) ask us to create and develop a sample app, supporting several tools provided by this framework. Moreover the sample app would be published on Oculus Store, demanding us to match all publishing requirements from the store.
Design & Development.
After the client's briefing and many conversations with the entire team I started a Desk Research and Benchmarks in order to have a big picture of the current GVRf state and other related sample apps, in addition to VR apps from the Occulus Store which don't use the same framework.
During the next months we had several alignments meetings with SRA to define all the main capabilities from the framework we had to support on the sample app, besides to create, present and discuss the app concept art, UX and UI. And even though the main audience were GVRf developers, not end-users, we decided to create a well polished product, with beautiful visuals and friendly user interface, improving the appeal of the app, leading developers to think: "I can really do interesting VR apps with this framework!".

Results.
The sample app was done covering all framework capabilityes required by the clients and since it matched all requirements, we published the app on the Occulus Store. You can download the app on the here.

Role.
My main role on this project was UX/UI Designer and 2D Concept Artist, so I was able to concept and design the entire experience.
